Thank you to those families who were able to make it along to our This is Me exhibition this afternoon. The children were proud to share their work and were delighted to see their ebooks up on the big screen. For those of you who were unable to make it, please find photographs of your child's display below - enjoy!
Courtney Fink, from the Eurobodalla Shire Council visited Broulee Public on Friday the 24th of July. Courtney brought along 100 plants for us to plant within the school grounds for National Tree Planting day, on July 26. Our Kindergarten students, along with some year 4, 5 and 6 students, were fortunate to be the gardeners for the day and planted several trees around the back of our playground tunnel. We then moved further along the school and worked together to create a new habitat to attract lizards, alongside the Fairy Garden. To create the Lizard Garden, we carefully placed some camouflaged pipes, water trays, logs and rocks and planted more trees. We were very proud of our little gardeners who arranged, planted, mulched and watered like professional gardeners. The native trees that were planted should attract some insects, which in turn may see some birds, frogs and lizards visit the garden areas. You are invited to come along to the school hall on Monday 27th July anytime between 3-5pm to view the art produced by the Kindergarten students during our unit of work 'This Is Me.' This unit explores our similarities and differences and the ways in which we change as we grow up.
Term 3 started with an exciting week full of Dinosaurs. We learned about many different kinds of dinosaurs. We stepped out the size of some dinosaurs, some were longer than our classroom and three times as high as our school! We made dinosaur scenes, dinosaur eggs, dinosaur biscuits, dinosaur models. We did dinosaur maths and discovered and described some very unusual dinosaurs such as the Lanceatops, the HunterRex and the Siennaodon. |
